Today there will be a Second Collection for “Peter’s Pence” - the money which helps to sustain the central and world-wide work of the Church.

 

Thank you to all who helped with the First Holy Communion Celebrations last Sunday, both in the preparations for the day, work on the day and clearing up after the two Masses. A lot of people helped with tidying the church after each Mass ready for the next Mass.

 

Today there will be a Mass at Oscott College ( Birmingham ) to mark the closure of the Year of St Paul and the beginning of the year of Priesthood. Archbishop Vincent will be the principal celebrant; there will be a presentation to him in thanksgiving for his nine years of service to the Archdiocese. Details on notice boards.

 

Next Sunday: Drama Re-union – for cast and crew of On this Rock, at 12-15 pm at 14 Quarry High Street (Helen Foster’s), Bring and Share Lunch. (In church hall if weather is bad.) Come along if you want to be involved in the next possible production (Eastertide 2010).

 

Annual Parish Meeting: Sunday 12th July at 7-45 pm in Corpus Christi Hall. All welcome.

 

Headington Summer Family FunDay: Sat 18 July 2-5pm in Bury Knowle Park . Something for all ages, provided free by Churches Together in Headington as a service to the local community.

 

Sister Anthony died peacefully on 24th June; she had been in a nursing home since breaking her hip while in Ireland visiting her sister. Pray for the repose of her soul, and give thanks for all those who cared for her.  Her Funeral Mass took place on Friday. There will soon be a Requiem Mass for her in Corpus Christi , probably on Sat 1st Aug at 10am.

 

A “Gift Sale will take place on Sun 20th Sept, in place of the “unwanted Christmas presents” and “presents for Fr John” sales. Please start collecting appropriate items as you go about your summer travels!

 

Musicians? Singers? Instrumentalists? Offers of help with music at our Sunday Masses would be welcome.
