Today many of the children in the parish will be making their First
Holy Communion at the 9-00 and 11-00 am Masses. Pray for them and their
families that they may always have a great love and respect for the gift of
Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
Today there will be Evening Prayer at 6-00 pm in Our Lady of Lourdes
Church, Wheatley. We will be welcoming other members of the Wheatley Area
Churches. The WAC AGM will take place
after Evening Prayer.
Today we welcome back to the parish for a few weeks Fr Anthony
Packianathan (Fr Raja’s friend) who is in Oxford for a short period of studies.

Next
Sunday there will be a Second Collection for “Peter’s Pence” the money which helps to sustain the central and world-wide
work of the Church.
Next
Sunday there will be a Mass at Oscott College
(Birmingham) to mark the closure of the Year of St Paul and the beginning of
the year of Priesthood. Archbishop Vincent will be the principal celebrant;
there will be a presentation to him in thanksgiving for his nine years of
service to the Archdiocese. Details on notice boards.
Drama
Re-union – for cast and crew of On this Rock,
at Helen Foster’s at 12-15 pm on Sun 5th July at 14 Quarry High Street, Bring
and Share Lunch. (In church hall if weather is bad. If you want to be involved
in the next possible production (Eastertide 2010), come along.
CAFOD is urging us to lobby the government to remember the needs of
developing countries in their policies, especially in matters concerning
climate change. Postcards are available for you to send to HM Govt.
Congratulations to the Filipino Community for their Independence Day
celebrations last Saturday. As always, it was a very good occasion.
